History of “Feeding Our Future” Fraud in Minnesota

The lies, disinformation, and hoaxes linked to this case is off the charts, thanks to Donald John Trump and his loyalist Klepto-Kakistocracy MAGA KKK hate cult and regime.

I could not find this information from one source. It took several searches to piece it together from reliable and accurate sources. Most of what I share here are facts with some opinionated comments from me based on what I learned.

There are about 100,000 Somali immigrants and U.S. citizens living in Minnesota.

The fraud case in Minnesota that has drawn significant attention from President Donald John Trump is the “Feeding Our Future” scandal, an “industrial-scale” scheme that stole an estimated quarter of a billion dollars in federal funds meant for children’s meals during the pandemic.

Timeline of “Feeding Our Future” Fraud Case Starts with Trump 1.0

The primary legislation associated with this fraud in Minnesota was the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, specifically the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and the federal child nutrition programs, which had rules waived during the pandemic.

The CARES Act was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Trump in March 2020 during his first administration.

Paycheck Protection Program (PPP): This program provided billions of dollars in forgivable loans to businesses to help with payroll and operating costs during the pandemic. The urgency of the crisis led to a rapid rollout with fewer stringent oversight mechanisms, which created opportunities for widespread fraud.

Federal Child Nutrition Program Waivers: Federal officials waived some standard program rules to allow for easier and off-site meal distribution during the public health crisis. This reduced the typical oversight, which the “Feeding Our Future” organization and others exploited by submitting fraudulent claims for millions of meals that were never served.

BIDEN’S ADMINISTRATION

Early 2020: The fraud scheme grew exponentially, exploiting flexibilities in federal food aid programs established by the CARES Act during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Late 2020: The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) began scrutinizing the rapid growth of the non-profit sponsor, Feeding Our Future. The organization sued, arguing discrimination, which a court ruling found had a chilling effect on the state’s oversight.

Early 2021: The FBI alerted MDE to allegations of kickbacks and fake meal counts.

January 2022: Federal agents executed search warrants, marking the first public confirmation of a major criminal probe.

September 2022: Federal prosecutors announced sweeping indictments, revealing what they described as the country’s largest COVID-19-related fraud scam.

The first trial in the massive “Feeding Our Future” fraud case began on April 22, 2024, in Minnesota, with closing arguments and verdicts occurring in late May and early June 2024, resulting in convictions for five defendants and acquittals for two others in that initial group of seven.

Start Date: April 22, 2024 (jury selection).

End Date: Verdicts delivered on June 7, 2024.

Defendants: Seven individuals were tried together in this first group.

Outcome: Five defendants were convicted, and two were acquitted.

June 2024 – April 2025: Five individuals, including some from the first trial, were indicted in a separate case for attempting to bribe a juror with $120,000 in cash during the first trial. All five of these defendants pleaded guilty to the bribery charges by May 2025.

October 15, 2024: The first sentence in the scandal was handed down. Mohamed Ismail received a 12-year prison sentence and was ordered to pay over $47 million in restitution.

Significance: This marked the first major trial in the federal investigation into $250 million in pandemic-era food program fraud.

On January 20, 2025, Doanld John Trump was sworn in as president for his second term. Up until then Biden was president.

Aimee Bock‘s federal fraud trial, where she, a white woman, not a Somali, was convicted for her role in the “Feeding Our Future” scheme, began in February 2025, with testimony starting around February 10, and she was found guilty on March 19, 2025, following a joint trial with Salim Said.

Aimee Bock was found guilty by a federal jury on March 19, 2025, for her role as the mastermind in the $250 million Feeding Our Future fraud scheme, facing charges related to pandemic-era meal fraud.

I’m not at all familiar with this case. I assume tRump’s take is that the Somali’s were wholly and solely to blame?

Yes, that is how the Toxic T is framing all his lies, exaggerations and showing his racism once again. It never ends. Every time his incompetence, ignorance and bumbling leads to more crime, he always blames someone else for what he started. That is the story of his life going back to when he was a kid.
