According to testimony from his former aide Cassidy Hutchinson, Donald Trump knew that some of his supporters gathering for his January 6, 2021, rally were armed when he told security to remove metal detectors. In a June 2022 hearing, Hutchinson told the House Select Committee investigating the Capitol attack that Trump was informed about the armed individuals before he went on stage.

In a 70-minute tirade, Donald (the porn star’s) John Trump repeatedly told his armed mob to fight and once said to “fight like hell.”

Capitol riots: Did Trump’s words at rally incite violence?

Four protesters and one police officer died during or shortly after the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Four other police officers who responded to the attack later died by suicide. Approximately 140 law enforcement officers were injured during the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. Injuries ranged from bruises and sprains to more severe injuries such as concussions, rib fractures, and burns. The exact number of rioters who were wounded and needed medical care was not reported in the search results, though some did receive medical attention.

Deaths of protesters

  • Ashli Babbitt, 35: A U.S. Air Force veteran, Babbitt was shot and killed by a Capitol Police officer as she attempted to climb through a broken window into the Speaker’s Lobby inside the Capitol.
  • Benjamin Philips, 50: The founder of a pro-Trump website, Philips traveled to D.C. for the rally and died of a stroke on the day of the riot.
  • Kevin Greeson, 55: Greeson, who had high blood pressure, died of a heart attack while at the Capitol.
  • Rosanne Boyland, 34: Boyland died from an accidental overdose of a stimulant drug, according to the medical examiner, though other reports cited witnesses who said she was trampled by the crowd.

Deaths of police officers

  • Brian Sicknick, 42: A U.S. Capitol Police officer, Sicknick was attacked by rioters and sprayed with a chemical substance. He later suffered two strokes and died the following day. The D.C. medical examiner ruled that Sicknick died of natural causes, but the Capitol Police maintain that he died in the line of duty.
  • Jeffrey Smith, 35: A D.C. Metropolitan Police officer, Smith died by suicide days after the attack.
  • Howard Liebengood, 51: A U.S. Capitol Police officer, Liebengood also died by suicide four days after the riot.
  • Kyle DeFreytag, 25: A D.C. Metropolitan Police officer, DeFreytag died by suicide in July 2021.
  • Gunther Hashida, 43: A D.C. Metropolitan Police officer, Hashida died by suicide in July 2021.

      About five did commit suicide out of more than 140. The suicide rate for combat vets with PTSD is high.

      Maybe those few already suffered from PTSD and were on the edge. Many police officers are former military. This may have pushed them over the edge. I don’t think they ever imagined the capital building would become a war zone and the sitting president would sent the mob that attacked them to destroy the elected government.

      An estimated 2,000 to 2,500 insurrectionists entered the U.S. Capitol building during the January 6, 2021, attack, according to the FBI. This number does not include the individuals outside the building who participated in the broader attack, which involved members of militia groups like the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers. The mob included a much larger number of people who gathered outside the building. Trump fired them up telling them to fight, fight like hell almost 20 times or they wouldn’t have a country left. Some of Trump’s mob were armed with weapons, pepper spray, stun guns, and wore gas masks. This was planned and Trump was behind it.

      The only individual who could call for help was the same man that sent the mob to attack the capital, explaining why no help came. Outnumbered almost 20 to one. Those police officers were on their own. There were at least 80 capitol police and more than 60 from DC Metropolitan police defending our elected Congress from the thousands of traitors who attacked them, sent by Trump, who was the president who took the oath to defend the Constitution; not attack it. That mob send by Trump was also hell bent to hang Vice President Pence because Trump told them too. Trump gold the mob that Pence was a traitor. It all on the records. Public knowledge.

      The attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, lasted from approximately 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST. That was about seven hours of combat for a heavily outnumbered police force.

      How did Trump manage to avoid justice and return to the White House? WHo are his allies that made that possible?

      The five/six conservative justices on the US Supreme court were involved in covering for Trump by making it harder to persecute him between 2020 and 2024, and they are still enabling Trump to destroy the United States, its democracy and the US Constitution. The lower courts have ruled against Trump about 97% of the time but the US Supreme court is overturning their verdicts in favor of Trump as he continues to destroy the US. The judges defending the US Constitution against Trumnpa re getting frustrated. The three liberal justices are also frustrated and depressed seeing what the majority is doing as the US Constitution is being ignored by Trump.

        Ah, I see. I knew about most of the events of that awful day but I didn’t know it lasted so long, or that so many of those police officers were vets. There’s been quite a bit in the news here lately about the rate at which ex-soldiers take their own lives. It’s horrific. I can see how the situation in Congress would trigger PTSD, especially when no help arrived. 😦

      Yesterday, one of the convicted rapist, fraud and felon’s loyalist MAGA cult members called me a liar on another site, when I made a comment that mentioned Trump was a convicted rapist, fraud and felon. This willingly un-woke idiot said I was a liar, along with the other usual uncreative off-the-shelf fascist generated insults, for using and quoting “liberal” media sources, which means any media news source reporting the news using evidence from reputable sources.

      I’ve learned that it is a waste of time to debate dumber than dumb MAGA freaks, who are still loyal to the malignant narcissist and sadistic sociopath they put in the White House, so I just blocked them. Those red hats will make great targets when Civil War 2.0 explodes. Just center the shot two inches below the MAGA hat’s brim.
