Without Ruper Murdock, without Rober Ailes, without Fox News, there would have been no President Trump.

Traitor Trump wouldn’t have a hate-filled MAGA cult supporting him today if it wasn’t for FOX fake NEWS.

The FOX fake NEWs Chanel was founded by Rupert Murdoch in 1996.

Roger Ailes was FOX’s first president.

“Ailes recognized that primetime television was not a thinking medium; its constraints would not permit ideas to fully unfurl. Many saw this as a shortcoming, but with Fox News, Ailes showed how shallowness could be a strength: On television, it becomes hard to distinguish arguments that genuinely lack depth from those compressed to fit the format.” …

“To Ailes, Fox News was above all a project in perspective. One of his key insights was that most Americans have little interest in the news, which is too abstract, too distant from their everyday lives. Fox News excelled at wrangling facts — and sometimes fictions — into familiar points of view. It transposed the bewildering world of current events onto simple storylines: us versus them, regular folks versus elites, the righteous versus the unjust.”

What Roger Ailes did to America | Vox

28 years later, this is the FOX fake NEWS audience. Murdock and Ailes got what they wanted, a programmed audience that distrusts every accurate and honest news media voice out there but the one that tells them what they want to hear, while ignoring the facts.

“Fox News, the influential cable network launched by Rupert Murdoch in 1996, holds a unique place in the American media landscape, particularly for those on the ideological right. While Democrats in the United States turn to and place their trust in a variety of media outlets for political news, no other source comes close to matching the appeal of Fox News for Republicans.”

Without Ruper Murdock, without Rober Ailes, without FOX fake NEWS, there would have been no President Trump.

There would have never been a January 6, 2021, violent insurrection, a failed coup attempt.

Trump’s MAGA cult was created by FOX fake NEWS.

Trump’s MAGA cult was created by FOX fake NEWS.

And when Traitor Trump and Vicious Vance are gone, FOX fake NEWS will still be there, feeding the MAGA cult it created what they still want to hear.

This is perhaps the scariest part of this post: ‘And when Traitor Trump and Vicious Vance are gone, FOX fake NEWS will still be there, feeding the MAGA cult it created what they still want to hear.

There is a fix for that, but that fix will not happen unless Democrats control both houses of Congress, and the president is Kamala Harris or Tim Walz. The US also will have to have a balanced US Supreme Court again that isn’t controlled by 6 fascist justices.

For years, the US had what was called the Fairness Doctrine that required the news media to allow opposing views a voice in the same paper or time space. President Reagan who gave the US a debt building gift to make the rich wealthier through trickledown economics got rid of the Fairness Doctrine claiming it violated the 1st Amendment regarding freedom of speech.

      It didn’t.

The Fairness Doctrine just made it more difficult to lie without someone else pointing those lies out on the same page or time slot. That way, the audience/readers didn’t hear only one side. Both sides had an opportunity to point out flaws and lies from the other side and argue their POV in the same forum

Congress tried to bring the Fairness Doctrine back under the first Bush after Reagan was gone and wearing diapers as he slid deeper into dementia, but the bill didn’t have enough votes to overrule a veto and Bush #1 got rid of the Fairness Doctrine forever, ushing in the era of extreme right talking heads that spread conspiracy theories, lies, hate, misinformation, and hoaxes, without any challenges on the same site or forum.

If the Fairness Doctrine had survived, there would have been no Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and all the other lying hate spreading talking heads, mostly on the right, and no FOX fake NEWS.

      1. acflory Avatar

Ah, I didn’t know that about the Fairness Doctrine, but it makes sense. I’m not sure if there is a specific law like that here in Australia, but I know that the public broadcaster is obliged to provide both sides for fairness. No idea if the same thing applies to the commercial channels, especially Fox news as I’ve never watched it. And never will.
We live in ‘interesting times’. :/

      2. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

Watching FOX news is toxic and damages brains so they become ditto heads that can’t think for themselves.

      3. acflory Avatar

I think a lot of people ‘feel’ rather than ‘think’. If something is said persuasively, they think it ‘rings true’ and never question it at all. 😦

      4. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

You thinking is supported by research. According to research, “a significant majority of decisions, often between 70-90% are made based on emotions than pure logic or rational thought, meaning most decisions are driven by feeling rather than careful analysis.” SOURCE: Gallup research

“Feelings are conscious, internal experiences that represent how someone is emotional experiencing something. Feelings can be expressed through bodily reactions, facial expressions, sounds, and behaviors.”

On January 6, 2021, the world witnessed the feelings of Traitor Trump’s MAGA cult through their facial expressions, sounds, and behaviors as they violently attacked the US capital, chanting “fight for Trump!”

      5. acflory Avatar

-sigh- Yes. The biggest conmen in history all knew how to manipulate people’s feelings. I hesitate to draw too many parallels, but I believe it was Goebbels who masterminded Hitler’s rise to power. Modern day industrial psychologists do much the same thing for advertising networks etc etc etc….

      6. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

And by the time a conman like the convicted rapist, fraud and felon, malignant narcissist and lifelong cheater Donald Trump has seduced them with the lies they want to hear, it’s too late to lure then away from his influence.

      7. acflory Avatar

Yeah. 😦 Don’t you wish there were a pill they could take to ‘wake them up’?

      8. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

I think at this point, there isn’t a magic pill that would be able to wake them up from the delusional insanity they have fallen into like quicksand that pulled them under.

That pill would have to put them to sleep, and that tablet would be made of 180 mg of arsenic.

After January 6, 2021, and the four courtroom convictions for fraud and rape, making Traitor Trump an official felon (which he should have been decades ago), anyone still supporting this lifelong liar, cheater, and crook, has already lost their minds. There is nothing left to recover.

I’m reading that there isn’t much information about how many people recover from cults when their cults no longer exist. And I’m not sure MAGA will cease to exist when Trump is gone, wherever he ends up, hell or a prison cell.

Still, most of the people that leave cults on their own were only there because of a family member or romantic partner who joined the cult first. They were not die-hard believers when they entered. According to studies, 80% of that group leaves.

By now, the only members left in Traitor Trump’s MAGA cult (and they number in the millions somewhere between 25 and 30 million), are too far gone to return to what is considered rational and normal thought. The US has the 3rd largest population in the world behind India and China, so that’s still less than 10% of the total.

      9. acflory Avatar

-sigh- That many millions can still destroy a country if the other XX millions don’t take a stand. I really, truly hope that they do. 😦

      10. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

        Me too.

Will the traitor win by cheating or lose because the traitor’s cheating wasn’t enough? Still, if the convicted rapist and fraud loses, I do not think Traitor Trump and his MAGA mob will go away. If he wins by cheating, the only way he can win, will the country follow the path Germany took when Hitler grabbed power, starting WWII, murdering millions in death camps and many more in battles while also bombing cities like London.

Or will there be a resistance of some kind stopping the Traitor, maybe even starting a civil war splitting the US between two colors representing different political viewpoints — Fascist vs those supporting democracy — BLUE vs RED. Only time will tell.

The BLUE states in the US have the larger half of the population and most of the wealth via GDP. The RED states are poorer and rely on financial support from BLUE states to function, with more violent crime and dystopian laws crushing their people.

There are more firearms in the Unites States than the total population. The extremely ignorant right thinks they are the only ones who have weapons, who will use them against those who disagree with them that the think are wimps who will cower in fear. From everything I’ve read, MAGA thinks they will take over without resistance. I think they are wrong. Very wrong.

I think Traitor Trump will lose most of the active military if he starts implementing Project 2025 on day one as planned. he might get almost 30% of those in uniform to join him but not many more. Most of the troops will follow their officers who can’t stand Trump.

      11. acflory Avatar

A truly chilling assessment. 😦 I’m glad you mentioned the military as that was something I was going to ask you about. I know tRump has disparaged dead soldiers and the military in general, and I did wonder what the /people/ in the military thought of him. That stunt he pulled at Arlington cemetery was vile. Even if the families were MAGA and happy to have him there, his lack of any kind of respect for everyone else is telling.

      12. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

If we trust reputable surveys, the majority of the military and veterans like me have never supported Traitor Trump, although he lies that they did. But he also lied that the US doesn’t make anything anymore during one of the debates with Hillary. The US isn’t #1 any longer but its manufacturing sector is still in second place and increasing production annually, while human jobs continue to decline in that sector, due to human jobs being replaced by robots.

I attended a lecture in the 1990s, where we heard about one example. A GM bumper factory that once had 500 human workers in the 1950s that was still turning out the same number of bumpers decades later with only two humans on the factory floor, two highly skilled techs getting paid about $100k annually, with great benefits, including a retirement plan, that kept the robots working.

My sources about Traitor Trump’s military support have been surveys from sites like PEW Research, and the annual survey from a magazine called The Military Times that asks active-duty troops what they think of each president, including Traitor Trump. According to the Miliary Times, the traitor’s support was its highest before he moved into the White House. Then it started to sink and kept dropping every year that survey was conducted. Every survey revealed that 70% or more of the officers did not support or approve of the traitor. The convicted rapist, fraud and felon had more support from the enlisted troops but still never a majority breaking 50%.

      13. acflory Avatar

Yes! That’s one of the things I’ve never been able to understand. It was corporations that automated everything or sent the manufacturing off shore. They are to blame for the decline in manufacturing, and thus the decline in the standard of living for those displaced. Yet no one seems to blame them, or even recognize the problem. No government in a democratic system can force companies to keep or provide jobs. Incentives yes, force no.
What you say about the military is reassuring because one fear for outsiders like me is that tRump will demand that the military drop a nuclear device on some country he’s peeved with. In Reagan’s decline there were others around who covered for his dementia and ensured that nothing terrible would happen, but with Trump? Project 2025 would give him the power to do pretty much whatever he wants. Hopefully the military would never let that happen. 😦

      14. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

That depends. Will the troops stand by their commanding officers and demand that they refuse to step down when Traitor Trump, as Project 2025 spells out, fires the top few hundred highest ranking officers in all the military branches with the goal to replaces them with Trump loyalist. If they don’t, then not only the US is screwed, but I think the entire world is also screwed.

It wasn’t that long ago that Traitor Trump publicly stated that once he’s back in the White House, he wants to replace our current generals and admirals with race car drivers and coaches.

“In a recent rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, Donald Trump made surprising comments about integrating NASCAR drivers and prominent American football coaches into the U.S. military leadership. Addressing a gathered crowd on Thursday in Charlotte, North Carolina, Trump’s suggestions seemed tailored to strike a chord with local enthusiasts of the sports.”

        https://www.newsweek.com/sports/nascar-news-donald-trump-makes-bold-driver-proposal-military-leadership-1930831

Every once in a while, I think the traitor slips up and spills some truth by accident like when he said he’d be dictator on day one and no one would have to vote again if he’s elected this year. I think this BS about race car drivers and coaches was one of them.

      15. acflory Avatar

I’m…appalled. He really is mad. 😦

      16. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

He’s a malignant narcissistic and a lot of other psycho problems including probably a dark empath. Less than one percent of the population fits this profile. I’ve read the average narcissist only makes up about 1% of the population.

Traitor Trump is dangerous, very dangerous and should never hold a powerful position of leadership anywhere, even over his criminal family empire. where the madman has hurt a lot of people by not paying them what he agreed to pay. He’s a serial liar, a cheat and so much more. Everything bad in a human is bundled inside his stretched out inside the orange skin of his obese body. He is greedy. He is obsessively self-centered. He is also an obsessive micromanager, and he often makes horrible decisions, then blames someone that works for him that just did as he told them. No president of a country should lead a country as a micromanager.

      17. acflory Avatar

Crossing every digit that Harris prevails and puts the presidency out of his reach forever. 😦

      18. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

The U.S. Constitution has no language to keep a prison inmate from running for president. Still, in some states, felons may not be allowed to vote, like Florida.

State Voting Laws & Policies for People with Felony Convictions

Since there are no laws against it, it is possible that the orange felon may run for president from a prison cell every four years. Unless Congress changes the law or a court challenge in the states blocks him from running. That is, if the US Supreme Court doesn’t step in and stop the states from doing that, which they have already done for this election. Citing the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution, the Colorado state courts ruled Trump couldn’t run for president in that state, because of the January 6, 2021, failed violent coup attempt. The US Supreme Cour overruled them.

What follows next is a grey area because I can’t find any laws about it:

Even after he’s dead, the MAGA controlled Republican Party may be able to run their dead god for president every four years. There are no laws covering this scenario. In the U.S. it seems that is up to the political party, Not the Constitution. Of course, if a dead Traitor Trump won the election a decade after he’s dead, he can’t assume office. I wonder what would happen then. Would the MAGA GOP appoint someone to take his place after he won?

      19. acflory Avatar

Wow…that’s…bizarre. I can sort of understand allowing a felon who has served his/her time to run, assuming they’re capable of it, but from within a prison? So much for good sense not allowing ‘silly’ things to happen.
A bit tongue in cheek but…would the dog of a billionaire be allowed to run for president????

      20. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

“Molly the Dog, a dachshund from Oklahoma, named as a candidate in the 2008 U.S. presidential election. United States TV host and California councilmember Charlotte Laws had a chicken named Mae Poulet who ran for vice president on the Bully ticket in the 2012 election.”

I don’t think they got enough votes to win, so we never found out if it would stick.

And I don’t think Trump has pets. Pets require too much attention and Traitor Trump wants ALL the attention focused on him from everyone all the time. He is a media whore. He’ll say and do anything to keep that media spotlight on him. He’s addicted to the attention and not in a good way. Running for president was only another one of his tricks to get the media spotlight to focus on him for a while. He never thought he’d win. He wasn’t ready to be president and never gave the job a thought. The one author who wrote Trump’s approved biography spent months shadowed Trump, even having dinner with the family, and that author came out, breaking his nondisclosure agreement that Trump requires everyone around him to sign, to warn the world about how all Trump does is talk about himself all the time, even when having dinner with his family. And when Trump is done eating, everyone was done even if they weren’t. They had to get up and follow him to the living room where they were his 24/7 audience as he went on nonstop talking about himself, how smart he is, how great he is, even talking about his love for Hannibal Lector, all the time. They only way his family can get a word in is to wait for him to take a breath and then praise him, letting him hear form their mouths how smart and great he is.

When we hear one of his rally rambles without editing, we hear what his family hears all the time. He rambles. And I think his mind rambles the same way when all he has is himself for his audience at 3 AM in the morning when everyone else is sleeping and he isn’t.

When he won in 2016, he didn’t know what to do, and he still doesn’t know what it means to be the leader of a country, but he did learn one thing. Being president and running for president is the best method ever to keep all the media’s attention on him all the time. And he wants it back plus the only way he’s going to stay out of prison is to be president again … for life. So now he has two reasons to win no matter how he does it. Even if it means starting a violent insurrection where millions might die.

The media whore, the me, me, me addict, found the ultima high for a malignant narcissist, and wants that spotlight on him all the time. That addiction is why he mismanaged the COVID pandemic in the US. Traitor Trump didn’t want to share the media spotlight with the doctors and experts, so he made up shit and got hundreds of thousands of people killed who followed his BS advice. He doesn’t’ care that his BS caused deaths. I’m sure he doesn’t give it a thought. Because he’s too busy thinking about how he can get the media spotlight back on him. When Kamala Harris started talking some of that media spotlight time away from him, making him look like the dangerous foo he really is, that must have really made him raving mad. Angry enough to start a nuclear war if that’s what it would take to get the attention all back on him.

Remember when he ignored educate when he was walking with the Queen of England. He did that to make sure she didn’t get all the media’s attention. He doesn’t care of he broke the rules. He got what he wanted. When he said he wanted to nuke a hurricane, he did it for the attention and he would have done it too if the experts in the military didn’t stop him. That’s why if he’s elected again, he plans to get rid of the generals so he doesn’t have to compete with them for the media spotlight when he wants to nuke something or some country or city in the future so no one will stop him from getting the attention he is addicted to. That’s why he wants all the power as a dictator. He doesn’t want to share the media spotlight with anyone. He wants it on him 24/7. Only on him.

If he becomes the dictator, he says he will, if a city or state in the US makes him angry when they won’t do what he wants, he may nuke them. Goodbye California. Goodbye New York. Goodbye Hawaii. Good by Germany. Goodby England. Goodbye France.

      21. acflory Avatar

Now you’ve really scared me. Really really scared me. When we were refugees, my Dad chose Australia over the US because Oz was the furthest from any possible conflict. If Trump wins, nowhere will be far enough.

      22. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

Trump can only win through the Electoral College. He will lose the popular vote. That is guaranteed. Still, even if that happens, Trump may not succeed in implementing Project 2025. There is one obstacle Traitor Trump may not be able to overcome. The Constitutional Oath military officers take to defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic. That oath does not say they have to obey the president. And 70% or more of the US military officers have never approved of or liked Traitor Trump.

And generals at the top defied Trump when he was president and refused to carry out some of the orders he gave. I think they will defy him again if he wins through the Electoral College and becomes a dictator on day one as he has said several times.

      23. acflory Avatar

I sincerely hope you’re right, Lloyd. It’s terrifying to think that a position as powerful as that of the President of the United States has no real guard rails to protect against monsters like tRump. 😦

      24. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

If the military doesn’t honor, the oath, then there is another option. Civil War, where the blue states leave the union, keep the U.S. Constitution and fight Trumpistan’s red states to stay free.

      25. acflory Avatar

Man I hope that doesn’t happen either! If the pumpkin still has access to the big red button somehow, how can the blue states even survive? -shiver-

      26. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

If Traitor Trump ends up back in the White House and there is a Civil War, he won’t have access to all of the nuclear weapons and even then, his militias might not be able to get any of them. The biggest storage facility of active nuclear weapons in the US are held on a military base located in Democratic Party controlled Washington State. Over a thousand. The rest are spread out, mostly in states the traitor would probably end up controlling.

Still, those weapons are on military bases and if most if not all of the commanders refused to accept the traitor as their commander in chief, it shouldn’t be that easy-to-get hold of those nukes. Many of them may even be moved to west coast military bases. California has the most active-duty troops stationed in the US. About 160,000 spread out through the state in different bases.

Locations of active US nukes in 2006.

      27. acflory Avatar

Not completely reassuring but…better than what I was imagining. ONe thing though, looking at that map gave me the chills for another reason: if say a foreign power wanted to eliminate the US’s nuclear capability [except for subs, I know that], they could turn pretty much the whole of the US into a nuclear fallout zone. 😦

      28. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

It wouldn’t be that easy. Many of the ballistic missiles in the Us are in remote areas in underground silos designed to survive nearby nuclear blasts and the early warning system means they’d probably have already launched before they were hit. The US also has more than 20,000 ground based missile systems designed to shoot down threats heading toward the US. Similar to what Israel uses to shoot down rockets fired at them from Iran, Hamas and other terrorist groups. The US also has a remote, isolated Naval and airbase in the Indian Ocean with bombers and missiles that could reach Russia and its allies. Then there are hundreds of cruise missiles that can be air launched from fighter bombers off of aircraft carriers. Those aircraft would launch the moment they knew missiles were headed toward those ships. Then there are the missile subs. The UK and France has them too. The US isn’t the only country in NATO that’s a nuclear power. The UK and France also are. If Russia hits the US first, there won’t be any Russia left when that first strike was over. Most of Russia’s population is concentrated in its west close to the rest of Europe. That makes them easier targets.

This map reveals how dense Russia’s western population is compared to the rest of that country.

      29. acflory Avatar

The map link didn’t show but I can understand what you mean as most of Australia’s population is concentrated around the coastal areas. The inland is generally too inhospitable for large population centres. I suspect Russia is similar.

      30. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

Use your favorite search engine and ask for a map of Russia showing where it’s population is located.

This is what I got from Goggle’s AI Overview:

“A map showing Russia’s population distribution would clearly demonstrate that the vast majority of the population is concentrated in the western part of the country, particularly around the capital city of Moscow, which is situated in European Russia, with significantly less population density in the eastern Siberian region separated by the Ural Mountains; essentially, most of the population lives in the European section of Russia.”

This is the first link I got for a map showing Russia’s population density.

        http://www.geo-ref.net/ph/rus.htm

I’ve done the same for the United States. It’s interesting how empty many of the states the U.S. Republican party controls.

I’m surprised Maine has such a low population. I would have thought it would be like the other, well-to-do east coast states.

      32. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

I think the winters have something to do with it. “The climate in Maine is a significant factor in its low population density. The state experiences long, cold winters that can be particularly harsh in the northern and inland areas. These conditions challenge large-scale agriculture and limit outdoor activities for much of the year. — Feb 21, 2024”

      33. acflory Avatar

Oh! Doh…of course. Maine is just south of Canada. I saw it on the map but the penny didn’t drop until just now.

      34. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

Still, I understand fall is stunning in Maine. So many trees changing color.

      35. acflory Avatar

I haven’t been to Maine, but I remember the explosion of colour travelling from Paris down to the south of France in autumn. For someone used to gum trees and a blue-green pallet, it literally took my breath away.

      36. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

I should have mentioned that the US has about 700 military bases outside of the United States spread out all over the world. The US Navy also has more aircraft carriers combined than every country on the planet. Russia an old one and it’s in bad shape.

      37. acflory Avatar

I’ll be honest with you, Lloyd, I’d be a lot happier if not a single nation had weapons like these, but that’s pie in the sky so I’ll take what I can get.

All there is to protect us from nuclear annihilation is what’s known as mutually assured destruction. have you seen the 1959 movie On The Beach?

      39. acflory Avatar

-shiver- saw the movie and read the book. Neville Shute scared me half to death. Mutually assured destruction only work as a deterrent between /sane/ people. 😦

      40. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

With monsters like Hitler, Stalin and Putin (and so many others throughout our history of civilization as we know it) still leading countries, there seems to be no way to escape mutually assured destruction. It may be the only thing keeping the monsters at bay. Hopefully the monsters also want to live outside instead of 100 feet under in a fortified concrete shelter for the rest of their lives eating canned food, breathing filtered air.

      41. acflory Avatar

        Smart monsters do… 😦

      42. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

I’ve read that Putin has been battling cancer. He also wants to build Russia into the most pow4erful empire in the word. And that goal is being frustrated and hopefully stopped by NATO. What if Putin decides to start a nuclear war to get even with the world that didn’t give him what he wants?

      43. acflory Avatar

Putin is many things, but I don’t think he’s stupid. At least I hope he isn’t. 😦

      44. Lloyd Lofthouse Avatar

I don’t think Putin is stupid. But even geniuses can be insane and/or narcissist and/or sociopaths, and/or psychopaths. I wonder what he is.

My guess? a high functioning psychopath. 😦

Gawd… I truly don’t like some aspects of this world we live in now. I know that makes me sound like a typical geriatric bemoaning the ‘good old days’, but at least back then, people had the grace to look ashamed when they were caught doing the wrong thing. These days it often comes across as a badge of honour. 😦

Everything before Traitor Trump was the good old days. All the way back to George Washington and probably earlier.

I’m a glass half full person so…those days will come again.

When I saw good-old days, that means something different to different people. To fascist KKK White Supremacists, Traitor Trump’s most ardent supporters, that means before the Civil Rights era. This group really misses the Jim Crow Era when they could hang someone for any reason, mostly because their skin tone was darker, and get away with it every time.

To billionaires, the good old days started with President Reagan’s trickle-down economic policy that supercharged the national debt that never stops growing at grotesque levels, always making the wealthy richer and the working class deeper in debt as they struggle to not drown in poverty and lose everything they work/ed for.

To the news media, the golden age of journalism in the United Staes started around 1900 and continued until the Internet arrived and introduced social media including mass produce hoaxes and conspiracy theories.

To Christan Nationals, the good old days go further back to the Salem Witch Trials and even further to the Catholic Church when the faithful still believed the earth was six thousand years old, flat, and the universe revolved around the Vatican.

lol – I had to laugh at some of these – especially the Christian Nationals one. I grew up a Catholic and know what you mean. I also grew up pre-Reagan. The Cold War was a thing, but somehow the 70’s seemed to be all about hope. Hope for people to be kinder, more empathetic, less selfish. I guess those are /my/ good old days.
