If we don’t deal with WHY he is popular – things like huge income inequality are going to make some people think 45 is better than the present.
The fact that they are wrong is irrelevant: they want change, and know they are unlikely – here, Britain, Russia, Myanmar – to get it from the present administration. Unfortunately, they rarely change their minds after they make a decision: it is incredibly more difficult to root our those fixed ideas than maybe to find some way to prevent them from forming.
People vote their PERCEIVED self-interest.

Many MAGA cult members want change, but I don’t think they know what they want to change or how to change it. MAGA wants to throw out the baby and the bathwater we have and let whatever happens happen even if there is no country left afterwards and the world ends up hotter than hell and unlivable.
I don’t think the MAGA cult has any critical thinking and problem solving skills and like their little orange lard of an antichrist, they also don’t like to read… or think. They are a spasming muscle that has to kick something, anything.
Which is why he needs to go to prison, so no one can try to follow him ever again to the ballot box.
I don’t know why anyone feels sorry for him, or willing to follow him, but that’s where the answer is hiding: WHY?
Why? Hillary provided the answer: The deplorables.
Which made her very popular with them – and didn’t help. Getting frustrated and calling people names should have been beneath her (and of course 45 can do anything he wants…?).
She should have showed them how, as a wife and mother and working woman, they would be on her to do list. Unfortunately, women don’t get many second chances.
Not saying they’re all capable of being educated, just saying that the way back to something functional is to have as many people as possible realizing they’ve been had.
And admitting I’m not perfect – and I’m okay with that. The problem in red states is their leaders, politicians and preachers – the ordinary people have the same problems we’ve always had, and their leaders consistently lead them wrong. For gain of some kind.
History is full of deplorables leading people wrong. Hitler, Stalin and Mao were deplorables along with others going back in history thousands of years. And these deplorable leaders all had enablers who were also deplorables. The enablers are usually a minority but it doesn’t take a majority of a country’s population to destroy that country.
The leaders of Russia, North Korea, and Iran are current deplorables. They are not alone. There are others still leading countries.
There were also leaders that did a good job. Under their leadership the people were safer and prospered. The United States has had other deplorable presidents who are ranked at the bottom of the list with Idiot 45, in last place now. The country survived them. If people eligible to vote, vote in a few months, Idiot 45 may be stopped. If he is found guilty of any of the 34 charges in the current trial, he may be stopped by that, too.
Deplorable:1. causing or being a subject for grief or regret; lamentable… causing or being a subject for censure, reproach, or disapproval; wretched; very bad.
I know two who support Trump. Both were Marines. Both are talented in their own ways. And they were both sexually abused as children by a close family member. For one, it was the father. For the other, an older brother. Are they deplorables today because of the damage done to them when they were children by other deplorables? I wonder how many others there are like that who belong to the traitor’s cult.
Remember how hard those states and politicians fought ‘Obamacare’ – and how many of their citizens were then able to get medical care for themselves and their families?
And Obamacare was once Romneycare when he was a governor. Nixon failed to pass a similar health care package. Although Nixon had a mixed presidency where he failed bad enough to have to resign, he also had some successes.
Still, at every turn, deplorables have managed to stop the right things from happening.
